A true dental emergency is when you are in uncontrollable pain, have had an accident involving your teeth, or find yourself in a situation that requires you visit a dentist immediately.

Under normal circumstances, and on regular business days, we will see you same day during our scheduled working hours. Please call us if you have an emergency dental concern.

Dental Emergencies

We know that unexpected medical necessities are aggravating, especially when there’s a worry about being late to an appointment or not having time in our schedules for a visit. Thanks to our capable dental staff, we can accommodate emergency patients. It is our policy to try to resolve our patients’ problems at that appointment. For anything else, we can work around your schedule to make sure your dental needs are soothed as soon as possible

If the crown falls off, make an appointment to see your dentist as soon as possible and bring the crown with you. If you can’t get to the dentist right away and the tooth is causing pain, use a cotton swab to apply a little clove oil to the sensitive area (clove oil can be purchased at your local drug store or in the spice aisle of your grocery store). If possible, slip the crown back over the tooth. Before doing so, coat the inner surface with an over-the-counter dental cement, non-mint toothpaste, or denture adhesive, to help hold the crown in place. Do not use super glue!

If you cannot make an appointment (except in the case of an emergency), we request that you call us to reschedule at least 48 hours in advance of your scheduled appointment time. These appointment times are very valuable to other patients. When we make an appointment with you, it's a promise on our part to see you on time and to set up all the necessary materials. Do your best to keep us in the loop!

You can expect that Dr. Williams will discuss and present several treatment options for you to choose from. Ideally, patients should seek a dentist who opts for a minimally invasive approach and recommends only necessary procedures to prevent future issues. A conservative dentist will only suggest extensive dental work when simpler options will not be effective. Good oral health involves preventing dental issues.
